David & Goliath
1 Samuel 17:1-58
David defeats Goliath.

David was a boy who did chores for his father. One of those chores was taking care of his father’s sheep. When lions or bears tried to hurt the sheep, David attacked them and rescued the sheep. He was able to save the sheep because he prayed to God for help.

One day, David got to help more than just sheep. He got to help a whole army. The army from Israel was scared to fight the army of the Philistines because its leader, Goliath, was a very big, mean giant. He teased and scared Israel’s army.

But David, who was not even a soldier, fought Goliath. He did not even use weapons because he knew God would help him win the fight.

David won the fight against Goliath because God helped him.

Thank You, God, for helping me do what you ask me to do.

    Memory Verse: "The Lord who saved me from the claws and teeth of the lion and the bear will save me from this Philistine." (1 Samuel 17:37).

Remember Rhyme

David was a small boy
Who believed what God had said;

He knew his God would help him
Save the sheep from being dead.

David fought the giant
That made the army afraid;

He asked God for His help
In the decision he had made.

David trusted the Lord
And the Lord did help him win;

Goliath lost the battle
Because David was God’s friend.
